When should I send the invitations?
One to two weeks ahead, so every guest has time to read their character and find a costume. Keep the character sheets, clues and solution in the printed file until the night.
Who gets which role?
Roles go out in the order your guests are listed, and "Shuffle the roles" deals them at random. For the 8-to-12-player editions, the first eight roles are the ones every game needs, so they are always dealt first. Nobody's invitation says who the murderer is: the character sheet does that on the night.
What if I have more guests than roles?
Guests can share a role, which works well for couples. The maker adds the extra guests to the first roles, in order.
Do I still need the PDF?
Yes. The invitations only set the scene: the character sheets, clue cards and solution are in the printable file. The free mystery is a free download; the Halloween and Christmas editions are complete kits for bigger parties.
